Pending Morse Elmer 1.7.0 Release

So it's been awhile, but I haven't forgotten about Morse Elmer and development continues just at a glacial pace.  While there's been two release since this blog was updated, you can check out the details in the app once it's released.  This 1.7.0 release contains several modernization updates that while not dramatically changing user experience improves the code base which makes it easier for me to maintain and make future releases.

You'll notice changes to the Progress Tab graphing capability along with dramatically reformatted documentation in the Help Tab.

There a couple of bug fixes, but the majority of bug fixes will be in the next point release.  As well as leveraging the new documentation implementation to provide offline .pdf versions as well as updating the documentation on this webpage.

I've gone through the last two years worth of emails from users and compiled a list of 11 potential issues and improvements I will investigate and include in the next release along with updates to the new documentation implementation.

As always I appreciate everyone who takes the time to use Morse Elmer and I hope it continues to be a useful aid to those learning Morse Code.

Morse Elmer Version 1.5 Released to the App Store

This update is mostly a catch up release, UI tweaks and refactoring to work with the latest hardware and iOS releases. A few bug fixes thrown in, QSO UI layout should be better, iOS File support improved.

Check it out! Morse Elmer v1.5

Welcome New Users!

So after a long lull in activity Morse Elmer has been thrust into the lime light again. Welcome everyone that learned of Morse Elmer from the recent Ham Radio Crash Course YouTube Video While I'm thrilled this app has been exposed to new people trying to learn CW, I'm a bit mortified at the state you find the app in... I've allowed the app to languish for far too long. While it still accomplishes most of what it tries to do, it hasn't kept up with the times. I mentioned in my previous post from 2019 that I was working on a new version. This is true... I'm in the process of completely rewriting the app in Swift. Unfortunately this rewrite is going very slowly and I have a bunch of new users and an antiquated app in the app store. Fortunately I started updated the existing app over the Christmas break. I've made a lot of progress and I'm happy to report that I should have an updated version ready to release in the near future. This version will handle working on the latest hardware and I'll try to include the bug fixes for the most onerous issues that have been reported. Thanks again for trying his app out and please comment here with your experiences and issues.

A New version is in the works!

Hi all, it has certainly been a long time. This little app just keeps chugging along! It's been on the back burner for a long time and definitely needs an update. I've started bringing the core app up to the latest iOS technology. That might be all I release in the next version. Once it's updated then I can look at new and updated features. Thanks to all who continue to use this. Morgan KI4OWG
